Well, it looks like things are getting well underway, the convention is set up to happen, the preparations for discussion of the official agenda items for the convention are at hand, and we seem to be pretty much ready to go... Therefore, I have an important announcement to make...
In the past two years that I have been National Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus, I believe that we have made great strides to restoring the organization to what it was before our internal conflicts, and I believe we have also come a good deal further as well. The organization is now much more decentralized, and individual state organizations are being built that will become the future of the organization in our efforts to bring the small government message to each state, to find activists in every city, and to be striving for liberty in every precinct in this nation. We must continue to nurture our growing local RLC efforts...
It is now time to develop new approaches to building a national organization that will support and guide the growth of our local chapters. It is my sincere hope that the Republican Liberty Caucus will never again be destructively focused on single personalities as it almost became in the past. We must focus on the real prize, and we must focus on the issues that matter to us. It will also take a new captain at the helm of this great ship as we move into a new phase of our growth.  In the past two years I feel that I have helped steer us away from the rocks that we were heading for, and I have worked to encourage unity. However, throughout my term as chair, little would have been possible without the constant efforts of Bill Westmiller, who has officially been the organization's National Secretary, but unofficially he has been involved heavily in every part of the organization. And as we move into the next stage of this organization's growth, it is obvious that Bill's work over the past years shows that he is the best choice to lead for the next two years.
Therefore, as we prepare for the upcoming convention where we will vote on the future of the RLC, I would like to ask everyone to get behind Bill Westmiller and help him put together a team that will continue to expand the RLC and continue to fight for liberty.
I am happy to personally support Bill Westmiller to be the next National Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus.
