The
RLC can only provide financial support for its endorsed
candidates through our Political Action Committee: RLCUSA-PAC.
After reviewing 45 federal campaigns, the Board selected seven competitive
or favored federal races for contributions. Regrettably, due to complex
state campaign restrictions, the PAC was unable to provide assistance to
our many state legislative candidates. We urge our members to make the
largest contribution they can afford directly to those candidates. |

delighted to count many of them as RLC leaders and members. RLC Maine

Nixon is running for an open senate seat. Former New York Coordinator Stuart
Mirsky is challenging an incumbent in the state 23rd Assembly
District. Honorary Georgia Chairman, Senator David
Shafer, is seeking re-election to his 48th District seat. Several RLC
Advisory Board members are also seeking re-election, including Vic

Endorses Initiatives Hundreds of state initiatives and propositions will be on ballots this November and most RLC Chartered state boards will be making recommendations to members. Of particular interest to RLC members are those that seek to restrict eminent domain takings and limit state tax increases or expenditures. National Directors have approved an omnibus endorsement of all Anti-Kelo and TABOR measures across the country. The RLC Statement of Principles and Positions asserts that: "We support the right of people to be secure in their persons and property and oppose any use of eminent domain except for essential government functions. " We support the legal and legislative efforts of the Castle Coalition and the Institute for Justice to restrict government takings for private purposes and urge our members to support all state constitutional and statutory limitations. Our members have been actively involved in promoting the Taxpayer Bill of Rights [TABOR] efforts to limit state taxation and spending powers in their states. Most proposals limit increases to inflation and population growth, but they are ideal vehicles for promoting reductions in all state government operations and interventions. |
