RLC member Dave Wallis will face off against Paul Zee for the 21st State Senate
District Republican nomination. Two Assemblymen filed for the Democratic primary
before Wednesday's deadline for Declarations of Intent. The 21st SD incumbent,
Adam Schiff, will challenge James Rogan's reelection for Congress.
RLC member Elizabeth Michael will challenge two attorneys for the Republican
nomination in the open 43rd Assembly District. Three Democrats have filed,
including the proponent of Prop 217, which would have increased the top income
tax rates in California.
RLC Advisor Tom McClintock will seek the 19th SD seat against Ventura Supervisor
Judy Michels. The district is strongly Republican.
For McClintock's old 38th AD seat, Republicans Ross B. Hopkins, Norm Walker or
Keith Stuart Richman will have no Democrat opponent.
Jayne Shapiro and Stefan "Stu" Stitch, and five Democrats, aim to fill
the open 41st AD. Republican Enrique Valdez will challenge the Democratic
incumbent in the 39th AD.
Tom Hayden has decided not to file for the 42nd AD race, leaving four Democrats
battling for the open seat. Douglas Cleon Taylor is the sole Republican
candidate for the heavily Democratic district.
Two Democrats will vie for Hayden's 23rd SD seat against Daniel Rego, the only
Republican candidate.
Three Republicans and three Democrats have filed for the open 44th AD. Two
Republicans will vie for the context against the 40th AD Democratic incumbent.
