Date: 11/17/99 12:42:38 PM Pacific Standard Time
Welcome to CA Senator Ray Haynes as a new member of the RLC and the CaRLC
Advisory Board. We look forward to developing a strong working relationship
between CaRLC members and the state legislature's Liberty Caucus, which includes
Senator Haynes and current RLC Advisory Board member Tom McClintock. Senator
Haynes is the current representative from the 36th SD, serving San Diego and
Riverside Counties. He had previously been elected to the CA Assembly from the
66th AD and is now a candidate for the Republican nomination to run for Dianne
Feinstein's US Senate seat. He has received the endorsement of most state
legislators, as well as the CRA, YRFC, CFTAR and CaYAF.
As Republican Whip in the state Senate, Haynes drafts the party commentary on
all pending legislation. We'll rely on he and his staff (including Tom Hudson,
our CRAssembly Liaison) to keep us abreast of important bills that deserve our
support or opposition.
Raymond N. Haynes is a native Californian, graduate of Elk Grove High School and
holds a PolSci BA from California Lutheran University and a PubAdmin MA from
Eastern Kentucky University. He is the National President of the American
Legislative Exchange Council, a bipartisan association of state legislators.
Sen. Haynes is now a member of the ca-rlc eGroup and welcomes your input on
legislative issues.
We look forward to Sen. Haynes' contribution to an exciting an exciting and
fruitful pursuit of liberty in the Golden State.
